Nigeria Bans Importation Of Cars Through Land Borders
The Federal Government has banned the importation of vehicles into Nigeria through the land borders.
The government affirmed that the prohibition order, which takes effect from January 1, 2017 covers all new and used vehicles.
The embargo follows a Presidential Directive restricting all vehicle imports to Nigeria Sea Ports only.
It is also sequel to that of rice, whose imports have been banned through the land borders since April 2016.
The Nigeria Custom Service on Monday urged importers of vehicles through the land borders to utilise the grace till December 31, 2016 to clear their vehicles landed in neighbouring ports.
